Why the Septuagint Matters
What Modern Bibles Use
The ESV, NIV, and KJV have overwritten parts of the original Old Testament with a much newer manuscript, the Masoretic text, finalized centuries after the birth, life, and resurrection of the King of Kings. It was compiled by rabbis who rejected Christ as God. As Scripture warns: “No one who denies the Son has the Father.” Why should Christians build their Bible on a text from those who deny Him?
What the Apostles Used
The New Testament quotes the Septuagint directly, the Greek translation completed around 200 BC. This is the scripture Jesus read aloud in the synagogue and the temple. This is what Paul preached from across the ancient world. The apostles spoke Aramaic and Greek, not Hebrew. The Septuagint was their Bible. Sovereign Logos exists to educate Christians and restore it to its rightful place.
Daily Readings
365 days through the entire Bible. Old Testament from the Septuagint. New Testament from the KJV.
We believe the ESV and NIV are more readable, but Crossway and Biblica have paywalled God's Word behind copyright licensing. The KJV stands because Scripture should be free.
