1These [are] the names of the sons of Israel;
1These are the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun,
2Ruben, Symeon, Levi, Juda, Issachar, Zabulon, Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Nephthali, Gad, Aser.
2Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
3The sons of Juda; Er, Aunan, Selom. [These] three were born to him of the daughter of Sava the Chananitish woman: and Er, the firstborn of Juda, [was] wicked before the Lord, and he killed him.
3The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, and Shelah, which three were born to him of Shua’s daughter the Canaanitess. Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in Yahweh’s sight; and he killed him.
4And Thamar his daughter-in-law bore to him Phares, and Zara: all the sons of Juda [were] five.
4Tamar his daughter-in-law bore him Perez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five.

10And Aram begot Aminadab, and Aminadab begot Naasson, chief of the house of Juda.

11And Naasson begot Salmon, and Salmon begot Booz,
11and Nahshon became the father of Salma, and Salma became the father of Boaz,

12and Boaz became the father of Obed, and Obed became the father of Jesse;
13And Jessae begot his firstborn Eliab, Aminadab [was] the second, Samaa the third,

14Nathanael the fourth, Zabdai the fifth,

15Ozem the sixth, and David the seventh;
16And their sister [was] Saruia, and [another] Abigaia: and the sons of Saruia [were] Abisa, and Joab, and Asael, three.
16and their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. The sons of Zeruiah: Abishai, Joab, and Asahel, three.
17And Abigaia bore Amessab: and the father of Amessab [was] Jothor the Ismaelite.
17Abigail bore Amasa; and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmaelite.
18And Chaleb the son of Esrom took Gazuba to wife, and Jerioth: and these [were] her sons; Jasar, and Subab, and Ardon.
18Caleb the son of Hezron became the father of children by Azubah his wife, and by Jerioth; and these were her sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon.
19And Gazuba died; and Chaleb took to himself Ephrath, and she bore to him Or.
19Azubah died, and Caleb married Ephrath, who bore him Hur.
20And Or begot Uri, and Uri begot Beseleel.
20Hur became the father of Uri, and Uri became the father of Bezalel.
21And after this Esron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Galaad, and he took her when he was sixty-five years old; and she bore him Seruch.
21Afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he took as wife when he was sixty years old; and she bore him Segub.
22And Seruch begot Jair, and he had twenty-three cities in Galaad.
22Segub became the father of Jair, who had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead.
23And he took Gedsur and Aram, the towns of Jair from them; [with] Canath and its towns, sixty cities. All these [belonged to] the sons of Machir the father of Galaad.
23Geshur and Aram took the towns of Jair from them, with Kenath, and its villages, even sixty cities. All these were the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.
24And after the death of Esron, Chaleb came to Ephratha; and the wife of Esron [was] Abia; and she bore him Ascho the father of Thecoe.
24After Hezron died in Caleb Ephrathah, Abijah, Hezron’s wife, bore him Ashhur the father of Tekoa.
25And the sons of Jerameel the firstborn of Esron [were], the firstborn Ram, and Banaa, and Aram, and Asan his brother.
25The sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron were Ram the firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah.
26And Jerameel had another wife, and her name [was] Atara: she is the mother of Ozom.
26Jerahmeel had another wife, whose name was Atarah. She was the mother of Onam.
27And the sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerameel were Maas, and Jamin, and Acor.

29And the name of the wife of Abisur [was] Abichaia, and she bore him Achabar, and Moel.
29The name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail; and she bore him Ahban and Molid.
30And the sons of Nadab; Salad and Apphain; and Salad died without children.
30The sons of Nadab: Seled and Appaim; but Seled died without children.
31And the sons of Apphain, Isemiel; and the sons of Isemiel, Sosan; and the sons of Sosan, Dadai.
31The son of Appaim: Ishi. The son of Ishi: Sheshan. The son of Sheshan: Ahlai.
32And the sons of Dadai, Achisamas, Jether, Jonathan: and Jether died childless.
32The sons of Jada the brother of Shammai: Jether and Jonathan; and Jether died without children.
33And the sons of Jonathan; Phaleth, and Hozam. These were the sons of Jerameel.
33The sons of Jonathan: Peleth and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.
34And Sosan had no sons, but daughters. And Sosan had an Egyptian servant, and his name [was] Jochel.
34Now Sheshan had no sons, but only daughters. Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha.
35And Sosan gave his daughter to Jochel his servant to wife; and she bore him Ethi.
35Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant as wife; and she bore him Attai.
36And Ethi begot Nathan, and Nathan begot Zabed,
36Attai became the father of Nathan, and Nathan became the father of Zabad,
37and Zabed begot Aphamel, and Aphamel begot Obed.
37and Zabad became the father of Ephlal, and Ephlal became the father of Obed,
38And Obed begot Jeu, and Jeu begot Azarias.
38and Obed became the father of Jehu, and Jehu became the father of Azariah,
39And Azarias begot Chelles, and Chelles begot Eleasa,

44And Samaa begot Raem the father of Jeclan: and Jeclan begot Samai.

45And his son [was] Maon: and Maon [is] the father of Baethsur.
45The son of Shammai was Maon; and Maon was the father of Beth Zur.
46And Gaepha the concubine of Chaleb bore Aram, and Mosa, and Gezue.
46Ephah, Caleb’s concubine, bore Haran, Moza, and Gazez; and Haran became the father of Gazez.
47And the sons of Addai [were] Ragem, and Joatham, and Sogar, and Phalec, and Gaepha, and Sagae.
47The sons of Jahdai: Regem, Jothan, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph.
48And Chaleb's concubine Mocha bore Saber, and Tharam.
48Maacah, Caleb’s concubine, bore Sheber and Tirhanah.
49She bore also Sagae the father of Madmena, and Sau the father of Machabena, and the father of Gaebal: and the daughter of Chaleb [was] Ascha.

52And the sons of Sobal the father of Cariathiarim were Araa, and Aesi, and Ammanith,
52Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim had sons: Haroeh, half of the Menuhoth.
53and Umasphae, cities of Jair; Aethalim, and Miphithim, and Hesamathim, and Hemasaraim; from these went forth the Sarathaeans, and the sons of Esthaam.
53The families of Kiriath Jearim: the Ithrites, the Puthites, the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; from them came the Zorathites and the Eshtaolites.
54The sons of Salomon; Baethalaem, the Netophathite, Ataroth of the house of Joab, and half of the family of Malathi, Esari.
54The sons of Salma: Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth Beth Joab, and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites.
55The families of the scribes dwelling in Jabis; Thargathiim, and Samathiim, and Sochathim, these [are] the Kinaeans that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.
55The families of scribes who lived at Jabez: the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and the Sucathites. These are the Kenites who came from Hammath, the father of the house of Rechab.
