1(106) Alleluia. Give thanks to the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy [endures] for ever.
1O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
2Who shall tell the mighty acts of the Lord? [who] shall cause all his praises to be heard?
2Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
3Blessed are they that keep judgment, and do righteousness at all times.
3Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.
4Remember us, O Lord, with the favor [you have] to your people: visit us with your salvation;
4Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
5that we may behold the good of your elect, that we may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that we may glory with your inheritance.
5Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
6We have sinned with our fathers, we have transgressed, we have done unrighteously.
6O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
7Our fathers in Egypt understood not your wonders, and remembered not the multitude of your mercy; but provoked [him] as they went up by the Red Sea.
7He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
8Yet he saved them for his name's sake, that he might cause his mighty power to be known.
8He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
9And he rebuked the Red Sea, and it was dried up: so he led them through the deep as through the wilderness.
9Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
10And he saved them out of the hand of them that hated [them], and redeemed them out of the hand of the enemy.
10And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
11The water covered those that oppressed them: there was not one of them left.
11Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:
12Then they believed his words, and celebrated his praise.
12When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.
13They made haste, they forgot his works; they waited not for his counsel.
13When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;
14And they lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the dry [land].
14He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
15And he gave them their request, and sent fullness into their souls.
15Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
16They provoked Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the holy one of the Lord.
16Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.
17The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and closed upon the congregation of Abiron.
17He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:
18And a fire was kindled in their congregation, and a flame burnt up the sinners.
18Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:
19And they made a calf in Choreb, and worshipped the graven image,
19Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him.
20and they changed their glory into the similitude of a calf that feeds on grass.
20The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.
21They forgot God that saved them, who had wrought great deeds in Egypt;
21He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:
22wondrous [works] in the land of Cham, and terrible things at the Red Sea.
22To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.
23So he said that he would have destroyed them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn [him] away from the fierceness of his anger, so that he should not destroy them.
23Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
24Moreover they set at nothing the desirable land, and believed not his word.
24And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.
25And they murmured in their tents: they listened not to the voice of the Lord.
25He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.
26So he lifted up his hand against them, to cast them down in the wilderness;
26He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.
27and to cast down their seed among the nations, and to scatter them in the countries.
27They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.
28They were joined also to Beelphegor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead. And they provoked him with their devices;
28He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
29and destruction, was multiplied among them.
29He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.
30Then Phinees stood up, and made atonement: and the plague ceased.
30Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.
31And it was counted to him for righteousness, to all generations for ever.
31He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.
32They provoked him also at the water of Strife, and Moses was hurt for their sakes;
32He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.
33for they provoked his spirit, and he spoke [unadvisedly] with his lips.
33He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.
34They destroyed not the nations which the Lord told them [to destroy];
34He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,
35but were mingled with the heathen, and learned their works.
35And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.
36And they served their graven images; and it became an offense to them.
36He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.
37And they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to devils,
37He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
38and shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Chanaan; and the land was defiled with blood.
38Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.
39and was polluted with their works; and they went a whoring with their own devices.
39He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.
40So the Lord was very angry with his people , and he abhorred his inheritance.
40The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
41And he delivered them into the hands of [their] enemies; and they that hated them ruled over them.
41He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.
42Ands their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought down under their hands.
42For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
43Many a time he delivered them; but they provoked him by their counsel, and they were brought low by their iniquities.
43And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:
44You⌃ the Lord looked upon their affliction, when he heard their petition.
44And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;
45And he remembered his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercy.
45That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord.
