1(108) Song of a Psalm by David. O God, my heart is ready, my heart is ready; I will sing and sing psalms with my glory.
1Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.
2Awake, lute and harp; I will awake early.
2Let the redeemed by Yahweh say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the adversary,
3I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the people; I will sing praise to you among the Gentiles.
3and gathered out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.
4For your mercy is great above the heavens, and your truth [reaches] to the clouds.
4They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way. They found no city to live in.
5Be you exalted, O God, above the heavens; and your glory above all the earth.
5Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
6That your beloved [ones] may be delivered, save with your right hand, and hear me. God has spoken in his sanctuary;
6Then they cried to Yahweh in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
7I will be exalted, and will divide Sicima, and will measure out the valley of tents.
7He led them also by a straight way, that they might go to a city to live in.
8Galaad is mine; and Manasses is mine; and Ephraim is the help of my head; Judas is my king;
8Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness, for his wonderful deeds to the children of men!
9Moab is the caldron of my hope; over Idumea will I cast my sandal; the Philistines are made subject to me.
9For he satisfies the longing soul. He fills the hungry soul with good.
10Who will bring me into the fortified city? or who will guide me to Idumea?
10Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron,
11Will not you, O God, who have rejected us? and will not you, O God, go forth with our hosts?
11because they rebelled against the words of God, and condemned the counsel of the Most High.
12Give us help from tribulation: for vain is the help of man.
12Therefore he brought down their heart with labor. They fell down, and there was no one to help.
13Through God we shall do valiantly; and he will bring to nothing our enemies.
13Then they cried to Yahweh in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.
