1(114) Alleluia. At the going forth of Israel from Egypt, of the house of Jacob from a barbarous people,
1Praise Yah! Praise, you servants of Yahweh, praise Yahweh’s name.
2Judea became his sanctuary, [and] Israel his dominion.
2Blessed be Yahweh’s name, from this time forward and forever more.
3The sea saw and fled: Jordan was turned back.
3From the rising of the sun to its going down, Yahweh’s name is to be praised.
4The mountains skipped like rams, and the hills like lambs.
4Yahweh is high above all nations, his glory above the heavens.
5What [ailed] you, O sea, that you fled? and you Jordan, that you were turned back?
5Who is like Yahweh, our God, who has his seat on high,
6[You⌃] mountains, that you⌃ skipped like rams, and [you⌃] hills, like lambs?
6who stoops down to see in heaven and in the earth?
7The earth trembled at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
7He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts up the needy from the ash heap,
8who turned the rock into pools of water, and the flint into fountains of water.
8that he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.
