¹(146) Alleluia, [a Psalm] of Aggaeus and Zacharias. My soul, praise the Lord.

¹A praise psalm by David. I will exalt you, my God, the King. I will praise your name forever and ever.

²While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist.

²Every day I will praise you. I will extol your name forever and ever.

³Trust not in princes, nor in the children of men, in whom there is no safety.

³Great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised! His greatness is unsearchable.

⁴His breath shall go forth, and he shall return to his earth; in that day all his thoughts shall perish.

⁴One generation will commend your works to another, and will declare your mighty acts.

⁵Blessed is he whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God:

⁵I will meditate on the glorious majesty of your honor, on your wondrous works.

⁶who made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all things in them: who keeps truth for ever:

⁶Men will speak of the might of your awesome acts. I will declare your greatness.

⁷who executes judgment for the wronged: who gives food to the hungry. The Lord looses the fettered ones:

⁷They will utter the memory of your great goodness, and will sing of your righteousness.

⁸the Lord gives wisdom to the blind: The Lord sets up the broken down: the Lord loves the righteous: the Lord preserves the strangers;

⁸Yahweh is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and of great loving kindness.

⁹he will relieve the orphan and widow: but will utterly remove the way of sinners.

⁹Yahweh is good to all. His tender mercies are over all his works.

¹⁰The Lord shall reign for ever, [even] your God, O Sion, to all generations.

¹⁰All your works will give thanks to you, Yahweh. Your saints will extol you.
