1(25) A Psalm of David. To you, O Lord, have I lifted up my soul.
1A Psalm by David. The earth is Yahweh’s, with its fullness; the world, and those who dwell in it.
2O my God, I have trusted in you: let me not be confounded, neither let my enemies laugh me to scorn.
2For he has founded it on the seas, and established it on the floods.
3For none of them that wait on you shall in any wise be ashamed: let them be ashamed that transgress without cause.
3Who may ascend to Yahweh’s hill? Who may stand in his holy place?
4Show me your ways, O Lord; and teach me your paths.
4He who has clean hands and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood, and has not sworn deceitfully.
5Lead me in your truth, and teach me: for you are God my Saviour: and I have waited on you all the day.
5He shall receive a blessing from Yahweh, righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6Remember your compassions, O Lord, and your mercies, for they are from everlasting.
6This is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek your face—even Jacob. Selah.
7Remember not the sins of my youth, nor [my sins] of ignorance: remember me according to your mercy, for your goodness' sake, O Lord.
7Lift up your heads, you gates! Be lifted up, you everlasting doors, and the King of glory will come in.
8Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he instruct sinners in [the] way.
8Who is the King of glory? Yahweh strong and mighty, Yahweh mighty in battle.
9The meek will he guide in judgment: the meek will he teach his ways.
9Lift up your heads, you gates; yes, lift them up, you everlasting doors, and the King of glory will come in.
10All the ways of the Lord are mercy and truth to them that seek his covenant and his testimonies.
10Who is this King of glory? Yahweh of Armies is the King of glory! Selah.
