1(90) A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, you have been our refuge in all generations.
1A contemplation by Ethan, the Ezrahite. I will sing of the loving kindness of Yahweh forever. With my mouth, I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.
2Before the mountains existed, and [before] the earth and the world were formed, even from age to age, You are.
2I indeed declare, “Love stands firm forever. You established the heavens. Your faithfulness is in them.”
3Turn not man back to [his] low place, whereas you said, Return, you⌃ sons of men?
3“I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David, my servant,
4For a thousand years in your sight are as the yesterday which is past, and as a watch in the night.
4‘I will establish your offspring forever, and build up your throne to all generations.’” Selah.
5Years shall be vanity to them: let the morning pass away as grass.
5The heavens will praise your wonders, Yahweh, your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.
6In the morning let it flower, and pass away: in the evening let it droop, let it be withered and dried up.
6For who in the skies can be compared to Yahweh? Who among the sons of the heavenly beings is like Yahweh,
7For we have perished in your anger, and in your wrath we have been troubled.
7a very awesome God in the council of the holy ones, to be feared above all those who are around him?
8You have set our transgressions before you: our age is in the light of your countenance.
8Yahweh, God of Armies, who is a mighty one, like you? Yah, your faithfulness is around you.
9For all our days are gone, and we have passed away in your wrath: our years have spun out their tale as a spider.
9You rule the pride of the sea. When its waves rise up, you calm them.
10[As for] the days of our years, in them are seventy years; and if [men should be] in strength, eighty years: and the greater part of them would be labor and trouble; for weakness overtakes us, and we shall be chastened.
10You have broken Rahab in pieces, like one of the slain. You have scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.
11Who knows the power of your wrath?
11The heavens are yours. The earth also is yours, the world and its fullness. You have founded them.
12and [who knows how] to number [his days] because of the fear of your wrath? So manifest your right hand, and those that are instructed in wisdom in the heart.
12You have created the north and the south. Tabor and Hermon rejoice in your name.
13Return, O Lord, how long? and be entreated concerning your servants.
13You have a mighty arm. Your hand is strong, and your right hand is exalted.
14We have been satisfied in the morning with your mercy; and we did exult and rejoice:
14Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Loving kindness and truth go before your face.
15let us rejoice in all our days, in return for the days wherein you did afflict us, the years wherein we saw evil.
15Blessed are the people who learn to acclaim you. They walk in the light of your presence, Yahweh.
16And look upon your servants, and upon your works; and guide their children.
16In your name they rejoice all day. In your righteousness, they are exalted.
17And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us: and do you direct for us the works of our hands.
17For you are the glory of their strength. In your favor, our horn will be exalted.
