¹(97) For David, when his land is established. The Lord reigns, let the earth exult, let many islands rejoice.

¹Sing to Yahweh a new song! Sing to Yahweh, all the earth.

²Cloud, and darkness are round about him; righteousness and judgment are the establishment of his throne.

²Sing to Yahweh! Bless his name! Proclaim his salvation from day to day!

³Fire shall go before him, and burn up his enemies round about.

³Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples.

⁴His lightnings appeared to the world; the earth saw, and trembled.

⁴For Yahweh is great, and greatly to be praised! He is to be feared above all gods.

⁵The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

⁵For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but Yahweh made the heavens.

⁶The heavens have declared his righteousness, and all the people have seen his glory.

⁶Honor and majesty are before him. Strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

⁷Let all that worship graven images be ashamed, who boast of their idols; worship him, all you⌃ his angels.

⁷Ascribe to Yahweh, you families of nations, ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength.

⁸Sion heard and rejoiced; and the daughters of Judea exulted, because of your judgments, O Lord.

⁸Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name. Bring an offering, and come into his courts.

⁹For you are Lord most high over all the earth; you are greatly exalted above all gods.

⁹Worship Yahweh in holy array. Tremble before him, all the earth.

¹⁰You⌃ that love the Lord, hate evil; the Lord preserves the souls of his saints; he shall deliver them from the hand of sinners.

¹⁰Say among the nations, “Yahweh reigns.” The world is also established. It can’t be moved. He will judge the peoples with equity.

¹¹Light is sprung up for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

¹¹Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice. Let the sea roar, and its fullness!

¹²Rejoice in the Lord, you⌃ righteous; and give thanks for a remembrance of his holiness.

¹²Let the field and all that is in it exult! Then all the trees of the woods shall sing for joy
